Desperate to prove his earnestness, Desikar once stood before the sage in the freezing winter rains, wearing only his loincloth. Seeing this unwavering devotion, Mouna Swami wrapped his own blanket around Desikar and gave him the spiritual initiation and teachings he had been seeking, placing him in a deep state of meditation.
